Boat Shack

I was recently in San Francisco visiting a friend and drove out to Point Reyes and Tomales Bay to do some photography. When we left the weather looked promising and I had hoped to find some of the old abandoned boats that are wrecked and left on the oyster bar in the bay, Mother Nature had other plans! By the time we reached Nicks Cove the rain had become torrential and we sought the shelter of a great little restaurant with craft beer on tap and a warm fireplace!

While we ate lunch and waited for the rain to pass, I realized how much character the dock possessed and decided that I wanted to photograph it. I went and gathered my gear from the truck and hid under an umbrella toward the end of the long dock to capture this image. The day proved to me again that life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about embracing the day we are given!
