Uncloudy Day
In February 2014 I was in Nassau, Bahamas taking a long weekend trip with a friend. We had paid a cab driver to show us around the island as we wanted to get a good historical perspective from someone who had spent his entire life there. He happened to be the cousin of a fellow named McKenzie that owns the famous conch salad restaurant under the bridge aptly named “McKenzie’s”! It wasn’t more than 10 minutes into our drive that morning that I had requested he find a safe place to park and let me out. We passed this old boat that had been dragged up on the beach and left to die. I had already wanted to photograph it when I first saw it but as I walked closer to the boat I saw the name on the bow. It was ironic because of the overcast and cloudy day! I waded out in the hot water near her bow and spent 30 minutes shooting it from every perspective I could think of.
